I am pleased to welcome Marwa Ebrahim as the latest artist to take part in my project to promote local creative talent in my constituency office.
Marwa Ebrahim is a multidisciplinary designer based in Glasgow, with a passion for illustration and animation, and a background in Product and Service design from The Glasgow School of Art.
Concept and Design
Having frequently moved from one country to another, Marwa has been influenced by the cultures she encountered, and so has her work. This cultural impact manifests itself in both her artwork as well as her design work, which is often fun and playful, regardless of whether it is a painting, illustration, product design, or piece of jewellery. Her illustrations are bright and colourful while portraying different parts of her everyday life. Diversity has long been a part of her world, and her ambition is to use this life experience to create innovative designs that transcend the concepts of age, gender, and tradition.
The creative and cultural spirit which Marwa brings to her work is truly unique, and I know that her art work will be enjoyed by anyone who passes by the constituency office. It’s a pleasure to have Marwa’s work on display, and I hope that her playful illustrations will gain more notoriety from this exhibition.
Commenting on the opportunity, Marwa Ebrahim said: “I am delighted to take part in the Local Artist Project! It’s a great way to showcase and promote local talent.”
A selection of Marwa’s best artwork is on display in the Glasgow North constituency office, in Firhill Road, where you can view it until the beginning of November.
